Michael practises particularly in commercial law, corporations law, equity and Church law. He has a strong advisory practice. He has worked extensively in developing processes for institutions to respond effectively to complaints of child abuse and claims for redress. He also practises as an arbitrator.
He is a lecturer in Church law and governance, including professional standards, at Trinity College and the University of Divinity, Melbourne.
He is a chartered arbitrator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
